My name is Claire Bradshaw. I live in West Oxford, and I found myself at a bit of a crossroads in life. Things are moving on quite rapidly. Unfortunately, with the divorce, and I've also at the same time got children in higher education and having to sell my house where I’ve lived for 25 years. I knew I had the option to take a tax-free 25% of my pension pot that I've been investing in since I was 21. I'd been thinking for a good year actually whether this was something that I would would like to do, whether it was something it was wise to do, and weighing everything up. I felt that for being able to benefit the people around me and and for myself, I realised this is something that I might want to do, and it would be something I'd like to explore a little bit further. And then also, the whole process of selling a house is going to be tricky, and I wanted to make sure I had a little money put aside and it would be very sad, I've worked all these years, and it would be awful if it didn't feel like at least a side step step forward would be great as well, but at least the side step in it would feel like a step back. So getting financial advice was absolutely the next step for me. And it just ensured that I was happy with the choice and that I was guided to make the right decisions, for me. It is a little bit complicated and it's a little bit scary when one first enters the process. My knowledge of finance was incredibly small, but actually they were wonderful at showing me graphs and explaining things in detail. And I wasn't afraid to say sorry, but I have no idea what that means. I think I trusted her incredibly quickly because she asked me so many questions and wanted to know what made me tick and my past, and how I saw things in the future. And yeah, I just I just loved the way it felt very, very, very natural and very, very easy. And she loves my dog as well. We gained a bit of a rapport about about dogs, but that was lovely. I felt like she understood me. They went through everything so comprehensively that I felt that they tailored everything about the process to fit to my needs, and I do feel very secure about the future.
