Hi everyone, I’m really excited to welcome you to our new office in Kildean. It really does support a collaborative and flexible way of working. The building has been designed with some key principles at the heart of it. They are accessibility, inclusion, performance, well-being and sustainability. If I take the sustainability one, it actually really does support our target to have a net zero carbon footprint by 2030. We expect industry experts in sustainability to rate this building as excellent. What does that actually mean? It means that we will be in the top 10% in the UK of building performance from a sustainability point of view, which is a great outcome. As you can see when you come into the office, it really does support a different way of working, a more collaborative way of working and more flexible. So think about what it is you want to achieve. Actually, would it be better to stay at home because you want to spend more focused time on a piece of work. If you're coming into the office and you're meeting everyone in the office, what part of the office would best suit that ? And then lastly, if there's a mixture of people still working from home and people in the office, how do you make sure that everybody's been included? The key, please plan ahead. Because the way we will make this work best for us all, is if we’re using the office space evenly across the whole week. When everything is agreed, it’s time to book all the spaces and equipment you’ll need. To do that use the MyWorkplace app, and think about how you’ll travel to the office. Car parking at Kildean is limited. So don’t forget to book your space using the MyWorkplace app. You may want to consider other ways of travelling to the office. The coach and shuttle bus service to and from Stirling train station is also available. The new site is connected to public transport services, including the park & ride and local walking and cycling routes. You can also use the MyWorkplace app to book an appropriate workspace and additional IT equipment such as a surface hub. But please only book what you need. For example, if you have an all day workshop, there's no need to book a desk too. And if your plans change, you can cancel or change your booking using the app. Now that you’ve considered, planned and booked everything you need, you're ready to make your way to the office. Welcome to the ground floor reception area, where there’s space for visitors and customers to sit on arrival. The ground and first floor area are for our Diligenta colleagues. They include traditional desk settings and various collaboration spaces, as well as meeting rooms. Just off the reception area is the restaurant, which will serve a variety of hot and cold food along with drinks throughout the day, including a Starbucks barista station offering cappuccinos to frappuccinos. The restaurant will also have a 24 hour self-service grab and go facility for snacks and drinks. From the restaurant, you can step outside onto a lovely terrace area for alfresco lunches and taking a break by the river or just pick up a book from our charity bookshop, which we brought over from Craigforth. Our changing facilities with showers and lockers are also available on the ground floor. As well as a an accessible shower room and first aid room. M&G colleagues will be based on the second floor, which is the top floor of the building. The views are incredible from up here. Once again, there are a variety of work settings, including sit and stand or bench style desks, all with wide screen monitors and ergonomic chairs. There are also meeting rooms, exciting collaboration spaces and individual work areas. And personal lockers for anyone who’s requested one. The second floor also has a number of enclosed meeting rooms, as well as a large multi-function room that accommodates up to 28 people when it’s set up in theatre style. There’s also a well-being room, which doubles up as a mother’s room and a contemplation room. Both are bookable through the Business Support Centre. All spaces are supported by flexible technology, including Teams enabled meeting rooms. All meeting rooms are shared between M&G and Diligenta. And of course there are kitchen areas on each floor with tea and coffee making facilities, microwaves and fridges, plus vending machines with snacks and cans. Remember, new ways of working means we're sharing our workspace, so respect the office and your colleagues and clear your workspace after you use it. The office space is different to what we’ve been used to in Craigforth. So once you’ve been here, a couple of times, consider what has worked. Explore different approaches and learn what works best for you, and share your observations to improve the experience for everyone. As we said earlier, well-being is at the heart of the Kildean office. There’s an outdoor gym, with exercise equipment and walking path linked to the office. Kildean has enhanced biodiversity, with extensive meadow areas, a range of planting. We also have bug hotels and bumblebee boxes, plus a sustainable urban drainage system.
